The recent anniversary for the release of this classic among classics (August 17, 1979) reminded us of the song we made the day after both of us sat together and heard it for the first time. And countless times in a row after the first listen. We expected we would enjoy it being fans of XTC. The impact it had was and is stuff of legend. To us lol. Drums and Wires by XTC.
A few standout songs have been coming to mind that we were reminiscing on. So we thought we might take note of some as they come up and share. If they've stuck with us, maybe they might stick with you as well.
Here's one, from Stephen Duffy better known for his song Kiss Me, as well as having been the singer for Duran Duran pre Simon Lebon.
His catalog of his work as The Lilac Time is a real treasure though. Well worth a deep dive, and this song especially is a great one from a great album Paradise Circus.
